Meet the Principal

Mrs. Kristin Kingsland

Hello,

I am honored to introduce myself as the principal of Kyrene del Cielo, a role that I cherish deeply. With 31 years of experience in education, including 30 years within the Kyrene district, I have had the privilege of serving in various capacities. My journey began as a special education teacher, initially at the middle school level and later at the elementary level. Throughout my career, I have also taught 2nd grade and worked with English Language Learners. I have served as a Structured English Immersion instructional coach and spent 11 years as an assistant principal before assuming my current role at Cielo.

My academic journey includes earning a B.A. in Special Education from Arizona State University (ASU) in 1993, followed by a master’s degree in counseling in 1996. I am immensely proud to be a third-generation Sun Devil! In 2013, I obtained my principal certificate, solidifying my commitment to educational leadership. From the outset of my career, I have been driven by a profound desire to make a positive impact on children's lives. I firmly believe that every student has the potential to achieve excellence and thrive academically. Creating a nurturing environment where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn is paramount to me. Equally important is fostering a strong partnership with our Cielo families to ensure each child receives an exceptional education.

Outside of my professional life, I am fortunate to share my journey with my wonderful husband and our blended family of five grown children. My son resides in Prescott, my daughter in Tempe, and my three stepdaughters in Tucson. Together, we cherish our four adorable grandchildren. When I am not at school, I enjoy camping, traveling, indulging in a good book, and spending quality time with my family.

I look forward to the opportunity to work together to nurture and empower the students of Kyrene del Cielo.
